Three Commonwealth Consultants Make “Pros to Know” List

Mar 9, 2018

Commonwealth’s world-class team of supply chain experts is recognized for helping companies combat competitive threats, maximize their existing capital investments, and prepare for successful futures.

Boston, MA (February 9, 2018) – Commonwealth Supply Chain Advisors, a leading consulting firm, is pleased to announce that three of its consultants have received the prestigious “Pros to Know” award from Supply & Demand Chain Executive publication. Don Savage, John Neblett, and Kevin Thuet have all been identified by the publication as top supply chain leaders who stand out among their peers.

This recognition is the culmination of an intense recruiting effort by Commonwealth which has resulted in a senior team of consultants that average 25.4 years of career experience in their respective disciplines.

“Having consultants like Don, Kevin, and John on our team is truly what allows us to bring value to our clients,” says Commonwealth’s President, Ian Hobkirk. “For many organizations, it just wouldn’t be feasible to hire an all-star cast of experts to manage their supply chain strategy. Commonwealth’s advisory model allows our clients to benefit from decades of collective experience and have an extended team of specialists at their disposal to design and implement their supply chain initiatives.”

Don Savage, Senior Consultant, has 35 years of experience designing successful integrated distribution center systems for leading companies, many of which have won industry awards. He is well known in the industry for his ability to quickly analyze data, visualize a solution, and design a system that matches a company’s needs.

Mr. Savage is also known for his ability to effectively identify and troubleshoot key supply chain problems for companies and for helping them prepare for the future. “Too often, one crisis leads to another and a company finds itself behind in its supply chain performance,” says Mr. Savage. “When supply chain teams have the discipline, culture, and a flexible planning method for making system changes, and incorporate cross-functional input on a regular basis, they can be better prepared to handle the next big change.”

John Neblett, WMS Practice Leader, has been helping companies select and implement logistics software systems for more than 40 years. During that time, he’s seen “the good, the bad, and the ugly,” and brings that perspective to companies looking to implement a new WMS or upgrade an existing system. Pointing to the rise of Amazon-level service expectations as key challenges for all companies right now, Mr. Neblett helps his clients leverage their existing systems and facility infrastructures to compete effectively in a “right now” environment without completely scrapping the existing systems and facilities.

Kevin Thuet, Senior Consultant, has been designing, implementing, and servicing highly automated integrated material handling systems for 30 years. During this time, he has been involved in designing or implementing over 500 different warehousing systems for companies like Nike, Motorola, USPS, Coca-Cola, and many others.

Today, Mr. Thuet helps companies create the process and equipment changes needed to be able to repurpose or multipurpose their critical capital investments. Calling the supply chain “a series of functional links from one end of the business to the customers’ hands,” Thuet says that those parts require flexibility to move with the market demands and to accommodate changes to other parts of the chain. “To be successful there must be a conscious effort to communicate, empathize, and adapt in all parts of the chain,” Mr. Thuet explains, “and a focus on creating flexibility in every link of the chain to build a better organization overall.”
