Commonwealth Supply Chain Advisors, a distribution center design and operations consulting firm with headquarters in Boston, has selected Cincinnati for its new regional office. Commonwealth’s decision is based on the talent pool found in the Tri-State, as well as the area’s central location and strong business base.
“After exploring a few different options, we felt that it was time to make an investment in Cincinnati by opening an office in the city,” said Ian Hobkirk, Commonwealth’s Managing Director. “Commonwealth has doubled in size over the last 18 months and we continue to increase our staff across the U.S. to support our clients.”
Vice President of Business Development and Marketing, Jennifer Thomas and the company’s newest team member, Wanda Waddell, Business Development and Marketing Manager, have established the new office in Mount Lookout (822 Delta Avenue, Cincinnati, OH). Commonwealth’s Business Development and Marketing Departments are housed in the new location, which includes additional space for more company growth over the next 1-2 years.
Driving the company’s growth is the fast adoption of its modern approach and to supply chain consulting by a growing number of clients which range from multiple global Fortune 100 corporations to fast-growing mid-sized companies. “With major industry shifts, such as omni-channel distribution, there is a growing need for advisory services in geographic network optimization, inventory strategy and distribution center design,” says Hobkirk. Commonwealth sees hundreds of distribution centers every year and has developed analytical tools for DC Design which enable operations teams to analyze large amounts of operational data and perform ad hoc “what-if” analysis with various potential future business scenarios to immediately see the impact on required distribution center capacity, facility layout design, and level of material handling automation.
