Leveraging and Maximizing the Key Distribution Strategies of Today’s Top Omnichannel Organizations

Mar 24, 2017

At ProMat 2017, Commonwealth’s Ian Hobkirk will show attendees how top companies are mastering the omnichannel distribution center.

The race is on to develop omnichannel distribution strategies that enhance the customer experience while maximizing productivity. To find out how top companies are mastering the omnichannel distribution center, Commonwealth Supply Chain Advisors recently surveyed industry leaders to learn about their distribution strategies and practices. At ProMat 2017, Commonwealth’s President Ian Hobkirk will share the survey results and help attendees better ensure distribution center efficiency, accuracy, and flexibility in this era of rapidly changing customer expectations.

In Key Distribution Strategies of Top OmniChannel Companies, Hobkirk will show attendees how omnichannel is shaping new geographic network strategies, which material handling technologies are being leveraged to drive efficiency and accuracy in the distribution center, and how companies are changing the way they use warehouse software in omnichannel environments.

“Fully leveraging the benefits of omnichannel commerce, in many cases, can require significant investment in systems that enable company-wide inventory visibility and inter-departmental logistics coordination such as advanced point-of-sale (POS) systems, distributed order management, and inventory management—not to mention a potential restructuring of the logistics network,” says Hobkirk. “Companies are turning to their distribution centers to bridge a gap.”

ProMat 2017, held April 3-6, 2017 at Chicago’s McCormick Place, is the largest expo for manufacturing and supply chain professionals in North America. With over 850 exhibitors from industry, commerce, and government displaying their supply chain solutions and innovations on the 350,000 square foot show floor, ProMat provides attendees access to the latest material handling and logistics equipment and technologies. The conference will include over 100 sessions and bring together leading experts from the industry to give attendees the latest information on manufacturing and supply chain trends, technologies, and innovations.

Consistently named a “Great Supply Chain Partner” by SupplyChainBrain, Commonwealth ranks on a prestigious list of supply chain service companies that make a significant impact on supply chain efficiency, customer service, and overall performance. At the ProMat 2017, Commonwealth will be showcasing its capabilities on the expo floor in Booth #S3688.
