Dec 8, 2015

After completing more than 35 projects, adding staff, and growing revenues by 50% this year, Commonwealth Supply Chain Advisors is poised for more growth and success in the coming year

Boston, MA (December 8, 2015) – Commonwealth Supply Chain Advisors, a leading supply chain consulting firm, today announced it has achieved record growth in 2015. The firm completed more than 35 projects with well known organizations, grew its revenues by 50 percent, and added new staff members to support its continued new business. Commonwealth also acquired Systemflow Simulations and released version 4.1 of its proprietary distribution center design tool, DC Console™.

A distribution center design tool that was developed to make challenging facility design decisions easier, DC Console allows users to conduct “what if” experiments with different distribution center designs based on the company’s data. By incorporating both storage and throughput design, DC Console generates an immediate view of the implications of infinitely varied possible growth trends.

In January 2015, Commonwealth finalized its acquisition of Systemflow Simulations, a world leader in distribution center simulation and material handling systems design. The acquisition helped position Commonwealth as a pillar of technical competence in distribution center design and performance optimization, and added simulation to the firm’s arsenal of tools to aid in the distribution center design process.

Named a “Great Supply Chain Partner” by SupplyChainBrain for the third consecutive year in 2015, Commonwealth ranks on a prestigious list of supply chain service companies that make a significant impact on supply chain efficiency, customer service, and overall performance. Throughout the year, Commonwealth published a number of industry white papers, presented at conferences like The Supply Chain Management Summit (on “How to combat uncertainty in demand with a  flexible distribution center design”), and effectively integrated Systemflow Simulations into its overall operations.

Commenting on the company’s 2015 accomplishments, Commonwealth’s Managing Director, Ian Hobkirk said, “These are exciting times in the supply chain and distribution industries, given the pace and magnitude of change. By leveraging our strength, assets, and experience in the industry, we’ve made significant progress in positioning Commonwealth for the future. We’re encouraged by recent project successes and will only get stronger during the upcoming year.”
